MIAMI, March 22 (Xinhua) -- China's Zhang Shuai and Elise Mertens of Belgium recovered from a set down to beat Romanian Monica Niculescu and Poland's Katarzyna Piter in the women's doubles at the Miami Open on Saturday.
Seventh-seeded pair Zhang and Mertens won 65 percent of points on first serve and converted five of seven break points to prevail 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in an hour and 34 minutes.
Niculescu and Piter committed three double faults and won less than 55 percent of their overall service points.
Zhang and Mertens will meet Timea Babos of Hungary and Brazil's Luisa Stefani in the round of 16 on Sunday. ■
