KATHMANDU, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Nepal imported 19.6 percent more electric vehicles in eight months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, the latest government data showed.
A total of 8,775 electric four-wheelers were shipped into Nepal from mid-July 2024 to mid-March 2025, up from 7,052 during the same period of 2023-24, the Department of Customs said in a report.
Of the total imports, 6,883 came from China and 1,856 were from India.
During the period, Nepal imported 12,895 electric three-wheelers and 6,975 two-wheelers, the agency said. ■
