PHNOM PENH, March 19 (Xinhua) -- A high-level think tank forum on the Cambodia-China "Diamond Cooperation Framework" is set to kick off in Cambodia next week, a co-organizer said on Wednesday.
The two-day forum will be held in Phnom Penh on March 24 and in Siem Reap province on March 25, under the theme "Diamond Cooperation Framework: A New Chapter in the Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era," said Kin Phea, director general of the International Relations Institute of Cambodia of the Royal Academy of Cambodia.
"The forum aims to enhance mutual understanding through correct mutual perceptions, thereby strengthening and developing long-term bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries," he told Xinhua.
"It will also be a pivotal platform for participants to exchange views and explore ways to help further deepen political, economic and socio-cultural cooperation, and people-to-people contacts between the two nations," he added.
Phea said the forum will be divided into three sessions. One will be on Cambodia's active engagement with China's Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative, another on the "Industrial Development Corridor" and "Fish and Rice Corridor", and the third on the people-to-people exchange, tourism development, and civilizational understanding.
According to Phea, the forum will be the fourth of its kind since 2019. ■
