KATHMANDU, March 19 (Xinhua) -- A total of 201 people, including 15 children, were killed in traffic accidents across Nepal in the past month, police said on Wednesday.
As many as 636 others were seriously injured and 3,466 sustained minor injuries in 2,889 accidents involving 4,289 vehicles from mid-February to mid-March, Nepal Police said in a report.
Motorcycles were involved in 2,423 of the accidents, while cars and buses came second and third in causing the mishaps.
During the period, police collected 95 million Nepali rupees (687,310 U.S. dollars) in fines for violations of traffic rules, noted the report. ■
