ADDIS ABABA, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Africa's leading carrier Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new four-times-a-week passenger service to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, which will start on July 10.
The Ethiopian national flag carrier said in a statement on Tuesday that the new service aims to enhance trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Ethiopia as well as the wider African continent.
Mesfin Tasew, group chief executive officer of Ethiopian Airlines, said the commencement of the new service will expand the airline's presence in Southeast Asia and enhance air connectivity for its customers in the region.
Ethiopian Airlines also said the route will help strengthen its position as "the largest and most connected airline in Africa, offering seamless travel to various destinations" via Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. ■
