JERUSALEM, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Israel's military said it had carried out a drone strike early Sunday in southern Lebanon, killing at least two Hezbollah fighters.

The military said in a statement that the strike targeted the two in the town of Yater.

According to the statement, they were "surveillance operatives" involved in directing attacks in the area of Yater and Meiss El Jabal in southern Lebanon.

Photos published by Lebanese media showed a car completely burned. The Lebanese National News Agency reported that one body and a wounded person were recovered from the vehicle.

In the pre-dawn attack, a drone fired a guided missile at a vehicle on the road to Yater in the Bint Jbeil district, the agency reported.

It was the latest Israeli attack in a series of strikes conducted since a fragile ceasefire agreement was signed in November, following 14 months of cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
