MANILA, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines recorded 426 rabies cases and deaths in 2024, the Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) said Saturday.
"All confirmed rabies cases are fatal," the agency said on social media.
Forty-five percent of the rabies cases in 2024 were from pet animal bites.
The DOH continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing rabies transmission. ■
