BUENOS AIRES, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Argentinos Juniors missed the chance to go top of its group, falling 2-0 at home to Aldosivi in Argentina's Primera Division Apertura tournament on Friday.
Justo Giani put the visitors ahead in the 10th minute at the Diego Maradona stadium by curling a long-range effort into the top-right corner.
The hosts suffered another blow just after the half-hour when Federico Fattori was shown a straight red card for preventing a clear scoring opportunity with a deliberate hand ball.
Tobias Leiva put the result beyond doubt with a composed finish after Lucas Lazarte's pass on the counterattack.
The result leaves Argentinos Juniors second in the 15-team Group A standings with 21 points from 10 games, behind Tigre on goal difference.
Despite the victory, Aldosivi remains last in the group with five points from 10 games so far. ■
