JAKARTA, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Retail sales in Indonesia were projected to grow 0.8 percent month-on-month in February, primarily supported by sales of information and communication equipment, clothing, and motor vehicle fuel, according to a press release by Bank Indonesia on Wednesday.
Sales of motor vehicle fuel as well as information and communication equipment and clothing were expected to rise ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, while the food, beverage and tobacco group was projected to decline year-on-year.
For the next three months, price pressures are forecast to decline, but for the next six months, inflationary pressures are projected to rise, the press release said.
The index of price expectation in April is projected to decline to 159.6 from 179.0 in the previous period, while the index in July is expected to rise. ■
