VIENTIANE, March 11 (Xinhua) -- The Lao government, in collaboration with social organizations and the private sector, has launched a project aimed at strengthening the country's disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
The project, which is set to run until March 31, 2026, focuses on enhancing cooperation among government bodies, social organizations, and communities to better prepare for and respond to disasters, Lao National Radio reported on Tuesday.
It will also promote cooperation between the private sector, social organizations, and local communities in disaster-prone areas.
It aims to strengthen both personnel and technical skills to improve disaster response efforts. ■
