ULAN BATOR, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed after their vehicle fell through ice on Khuvsgul lake in northern Mongolia, the country's National Emergency Agency (NEMA) said on Monday.
The incident happened on Sunday morning in Khuvsgul Lake in the northern Mongolian province of Khuvsgul. The bodies of two people were taken out from a depth of ten meters, the agency said, warning citizens to prevent possible water accidents, said a statement from the NEMA.
In 2024, a total of 77 people, including 14 children, have been killed in water-related accidents in the country, according to the agency. ■
