YANGON, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The Miss Yangon 2025 competition was held in Yangon on Friday to mark International Women's Day.

The event, organized by the Yangon Region Women Committee, featured 40 contestants from universities in Yangon and various organizations.

The competition aimed to showcase outstanding pageant contestants, Htay Lin, an organizer of the event, told Xinhua.

Khin Marlar Aung, a member of the Myanmar Women's Affairs Federation, said: "Holding this event gives women opportunities and places them in the spotlight. I am very proud of this. The federation is working to enhance women's abilities and highlight their importance."

This year, International Women's Day falls on March 8.
