KABUL, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Construction of a road has begun in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of east Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, the state-owned Bakhtar news agency reported on Friday.
The municipal authorities will fund the project at an estimated cost of 19 million afghanis (260,000 U.S. dollars), the report said.
The report added that the project will facilitate transportation and local agricultural products to reach the market.
The Afghan interim government plans to create jobs for people by launching small and medium development projects in different provinces. ■
