CAIRO, March 6 (Xinhua) -- China's annual "two sessions" serve as a key venue for understanding the country's economic and political direction, as well as its approach to addressing challenges to global peace and prosperity, Osama Al-Saeid, editor-in-chief of Egypt's state-run Al-Akhbar newspaper, has said.

The world closely watches China's economic growth rates, industrial development and the government's expectations for future growth, as many economies are now increasingly intertwined with China's, he said.

The "two sessions" refer to the annual sessions of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body.

One key global focus during the "two sessions" is how China plans to share its development experience with the developing world, Al-Saeid said.

He added that major initiatives proposed by China, such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), play a pivotal role in fostering economic and technological cooperation with developing countries.

"The BRI is one of the largest global initiatives to connect peoples and enhance opportunities for economic and cultural cooperation," he said.

Launched in 2021, the GDI underscores China's commitment to global economic recovery, and serves as "an important bridge for cooperation," he added.

China collaborates with developing countries on artificial intelligence and green technology without political conditions, in contrast to Western countries, which have long tied assistance to political conditions, he said.

For Al-Saeid, China's openness to cooperation with other countries serves as "an inspiring model for many developing countries."

He continued that in a world grappling with conflicts and divisions, key initiatives proposed by China, such as the Global Security Initiative, play a crucial role in maintaining global stability.

China's continued support for world peace is "of utmost importance," he added.
