TALUQAN, Afghanistan, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Police have uncovered arms and military equipment from northern Afghanistan's Takhar province, according to a news release from the provincial police office on Thursday.
The armaments, which include eight pieces of assault rifle Kalashnikov, six pistols, a machine gun, hundreds of projectiles and hand grenades were found during a series of operations on Wednesday, the news release asserted.
In identical operations, police discovered military equipment including AK-47s and pistols from the Siagurd district of the eastern Parwan province on Tuesday. ■
