ISLAMABAD, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's consumer price index (CPI) inflation dropped to 1.5 percent in February 2025, down from 2.4 percent in January and 23.1 percent in the same month last year, official statistics revealed on Monday.

On a month-on-month basis, the CPI inflation declined by 0.8 percent in February, reversing a 0.2 percent increase in the previous month, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the lowest inflation rate since 2015, which reflects the positive impact of the government's economic policies and interventions, according to a statement by the prime minister's office.
