SOFIA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan claimed six of the 25 gold medals at the finals of the 76th Strandja International Boxing Tournament on Sunday.
Uzbekistan finished second with five titles, followed by host nation Bulgaria with four. In total, nine countries and regions secured gold medals at the event.
China took home three gold medals, all in the women's categories. Yang Liu defeated Berfin Kabak of Türkiye 4-1 in the 66kg final, while Li Qian and Bu Ridu won unanimous decisions against Vasiliki Stavridou of Greece and Zhibek Zharaskyzy of Kazakhstan in the 75kg and 81kg finals, respectively.
The week-long tournament featured 222 boxers from 22 countries and regions. ■
