KATHMANDU, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Nepal imported 6,256 electric vehicles (EVs) during the first seven months of the current 2024-25 fiscal year, up 1.57 percent over the same period of 2023-24.
The EVs were worth 14.75 billion rupees (1.05 billion U.S. dollars) and a total of 9.08 billion rupees (64.7 million dollars) were collected in revenues, according to the Department of Customs.
China-made EVs accounted for 76 percent of the total imports, followed by India at 23 percent, the department noted. ■
