MANILA, March 1 (Xinhua) -- A 10-wheeler dump truck carrying soil plowed into nine vehicles in Batangas province, south of Manila, on Saturday, injuring 14 people, police said.
Police said the truck's brake failed, causing it to collide with a passenger bus and several other vehicles parked in front of a roadside convenience store in Tuy, a town in Batangas province, at around 6 a.m. local time.
The injured people were passengers of the bus, police added.
The glass panel of the storefront was shattered.
Footage posted on social media showed the damaged truck resting on its side, pinning a motorcycle.
Police took the truck driver into custody while investigating the crash. ■
