ALMATY, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Four people died and another one was injured on Wednesday in a head-on crash on the Almaty-Astana highway in southern Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reported.
According to local police, a BMW-728 veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Ford Mondeo, which then burst into flames.
The driver and two passengers on the Ford, along with a BMW passenger, died at the scene. The BMW driver was hospitalized with multiple injuries.
An investigation into the accident has been launched, said local authorities. ■
