YANGON, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized 329,700 stimulant tablets in the regions of Yangon and Mandalay in recent days, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) reported on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police searched two suspected vehicles in Hmawbi township of Yangon region on Feb. 21 and confiscated 300,000 stimulant tablets, the CCDAC said. Three suspects were arrested for the case, it added.
Additionally, police intercepted a motorcycle in Kyaukpadaung township of Mandalay region on Feb. 23, and confiscated 29,700 stimulant tablets. Two suspects were arrested for the case, it said.
The seized narcotics are worth 359.4 million kyats (about 171,142 U.S. dollars). ■
