CHANGCHUN, China, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese aerial skiers dominated the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup at Beidahu Ski Resort on Sunday, securing 1-2 finishes in both the men's and women's events.
In the women's competition, Olympic champion Xu Mengtao overcame a last-place qualification for the superfinal to claim victory with a back full-full-full, scoring 114.19 points. Teammate Chen Meiting secured second place with 109.04 points, while Australia's Danielle Scott finished third with 89.18 points.
"That was better than my Olympic jump. The twists, I was very straight, and I had a good landing," Xu said, describing her final jump.
"This is my lucky place. I did a very good job here the last time a World Cup was held here too," she added.
In the men's event, China's Li Tianma secured his first World Cup victory, delivering a back double full-double full-full to score 130.56 points. Reigning Olympic champion Qi Guangpu took second place with 119.00 points, while Christopher Lillis of the United States finished third with 115.93 points.
"I felt very good today. I just made a little bit of adjustments in my jumps. This is my first time getting a win at the World Cup. Everyone performed very well here," Li said.
The World Cup continues on Monday with the team aerials event. ■
