SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's Mikhail Shaidorov and South Korea's Kim Chae-yeon were crowned in the 2025 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, which concluded here on Sunday.

In the men's competition, Shaidorov led both the short program and free skate, earning a total of 285.10 points to secure his first ISU championship title.

South Korea's Cha Jun-hwan took silver with 265.02 points, recovering from a fourth-place short program to excel in the free skate. American skater Jimmy Ma got bronze with 245.01 points, marking his first Four Continents medal.

Chinese skaters Dai Dawei, Peng Zhiming, and Chen Yudong finished 13th, 15th, and 17th, respectively.

In the women's event, Kim thrilled the home crowd by winning gold with 222.38 points, dominating both segments of the competition.

Americans Bradie Tennell and Sarah Everhardt took silver and bronze, scoring 204.38 and 200.03 points, respectively. China's An Xiangyi, Zhu Yi, and Chen Hongyi finished 13th, 15th, and 17th, respectively.

"I was a little bit nervous because I needed to do well in front of my home fans, but I tried to show my best, and I'm glad I was able to get the gold," said the 18-year-old Kim, who had also claimed gold at the Harbin Asian Winter Games earlier this month.

In pairs, Japanese duo Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara secured gold with a combined score of 217.32 points. The 2023 world champions maintained their lead from the short program, delivering a season-best free skate.

Canada's Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps earned silver with 210.92 points, while their compatriots Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud achieved a career-best 198.40 points to claim bronze.

The ice dance competition saw Canadian duo Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier clinch gold with a total of 218.46 points.

American dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates followed closely with 217.93 points, while Canada's Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha secured bronze with 201.04 points. China's He Linghao and Xiao Zixi ranked 10th among 14 pairs.
