TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- The office of the Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution, a major Iranian government foundation providing housing for deprived villagers, was partly destroyed on Saturday in a "terrorist" attack in southeastern Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province.
An explosion, caused by a "sound bomb," occurred at 10:30 a.m. local time (0700 GMT) at the office's building in Chabahar County, leaving no casualties, the official news agency IRNA quoted Mehdi Shamsabadi, prosecutor of the provincial capital of Zahedan, as saying.
Shamsabadi said that local authorities have issued necessary orders to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that the building had been evacuated before the explosion.
Jaish al-Zulm, designated as a terrorist entity by Iran, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement on Saturday, according to Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency.
Jaish al-Zulm has been involved in many attacks against Iranian security forces and civilians in recent years. ■
