NEW DELHI, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A mysterious poultry disease has killed at least 2,500 chickens in three days in the southern Indian state of Telangana, officials said Friday.
The outbreak has been reported in Konnur and Madanapuram mandal of Wanaparthy district, about 154 km southwest of Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana.
The deaths have caused significant concerns among poultry farmers and local authorities.
Officials have launched a probe into the sudden deaths to ascertain the cause behind the fatalities. ■
