TASHKENT, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on the bilateral agenda on Friday, said the press service of the Uzbek president.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed key issues related to further developing and strengthening Uzbekistan-Russia relations within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership, the service said in a statement.
They reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian president to Uzbekistan in May last year and highly appreciated the productive contacts and exchanges at various levels. Both sides expressed hope to continuously deepen cooperation in the fields of trade, humanities and energy, it said.
According to a press release from the Kremlin, the two presidents have also noted the successful implementation of major joint projects in the energy and industrial sectors. ■
