JAKARTA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A total of 46 Indonesian citizens who were victims of human trafficking have returned home from Myanmar, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
They arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten province, on two separate flights on Thursday evening and early Friday. Among them was a former legislative member from a region in West Java province.
"This is the result of a long effort by the Indonesian government to repatriate them from Myanmar," said Judha Nugraha, the ministry's director of citizen protection.
He added that the victims came from nine provinces, including Jakarta, West Java and North Sumatra. ■
