YANGON, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar police have destroyed 30 acres of opium poppy fields in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Tuesday.
The fields were located in Hsihseng township of Pa-O self-administered zone in Shan state, the report said.
On Feb. 15, police, along with other local authorities, arrived in the township and destroyed the poppy fields at three different locations, it added.
Police are continuing operations to eradicate the remaining poppy fields in the township, the report said. ■
