BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Argentinos Juniors withstood a spirited Racing revival to secure a 3-2 away victory in their Argentine Primera Division duel on Saturday.
Alan Lescano put the visitor ahead in the 22nd minute and Tomas Molina doubled the advantage just before halftime. Sebastian Preto made it 3-0 shortly after the restart but Racing pulled a goal back through Martin Barrios seven minutes from time.
Marco Di Cesare reduced the deficit again two minutes from time but the visitor held its nerve to secure its fourth win from six outings this campaign.
Argentinos Juniors lead the 15-team Group A standings with 14 points, a point ahead of second-placed Central Cordoba and five points clear of seventh-placed Racing.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game," Lescano told reporters after the match. "Our objective is to get three points. It got complicated at the end, but we were able to get the win."
In other Argentine top-flight fixtures on Saturday, Barracas Central drew 1-1 at Defensa y Justicia, Aldosivi was held to a 2-2 home daw by Estudiantes, Central Cordoba eased to a 4-0 win over Belgrano and Tigre prevailed 4-1 at Independiente. ■
