BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Andres Vombergar converted two penalties as San Lorenzo recovered from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 home win over Platense in Argentina's Primera Division Apertura tournament on Thursday.
Vicente Taborda put the visitors ahead when he combined with Augusto Lotti and took a touch before rifling an unstoppable 16-yard shot into the top-right corner.
The hosts drew level as Vombergar held his nerve from the spot after an Ignacio Vazquez hand ball. The Slovenia international forward gave his side the lead with another penalty in the first minute of stoppage time after Oscar Salomon brought down Matias Reali.
The result lifted San Lorenzo to third in the 15-team Group B standings, a point behind leaders Independiente, while Platense dropped to eighth.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Thursday, Lanus was held to goalless home draw by Gimnasia, Talleres Cordoba won 1-0 at San Martin, Atletico Tucuman trounced visiting Sarmiento 5-0 and Instituto Cordoba drew 0-0 at Union Santa Fe. ■
