KUALA LUMPUR, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's natural rubber production rose 24.6 percent to 117,040 tons in the fourth quarter of 2024 from 93,956 tons a year ago, official data showed Thursday.
Quarter-on-quarter comparison also showed the natural rubber production increased by 10.7 percent as compared to 105,715 tons in the previous quarter, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement.
As for December last year, natural rubber production increased by 26.2 percent to 38,299 tons from 30,342 tons a year earlier.
Month-on-month comparison, however, showed the production in December decreased by 5.1 percent as compared to 40,341 tons in November 2024.
Total stocks of natural rubber during the month increased by 1.4 percent month-on-month to 167,745 tons.
Meanwhile, exports of Malaysia's natural rubber climbed 1.8 percent month-on-month to 44,338 tons in December 2024. ■
