SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's state-run think tank on Tuesday revised down the Asian economy's growth outlook for this year by 0.4 percentage points.

Real gross domestic product (GDP), adjusted for inflation, was forecast to rise 1.6 percent in 2025, according to the Korea Development Institute (KDI).

It was down 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous estimate unveiled three months earlier.

The KDI outlook was lower than an increase of 2.0 percent estimated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and 2.1 percent by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Consumer prices were forecast to go up 1.6 percent in 2025, lower than the central bank's midterm inflation target of 2 percent.

The number of jobs was expected to climb 100,000 this year after expanding 160,000 in 2024.

Export was predicted to mount 1.8 percent this year, while private consumption was projected to swell 1.6 percent.
