LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Universal Pictures' animated family film "Dog Man" topped North American box office for the second weekend in a row with an estimated three-day cume of 13.7 million U.S. dollars, data from measurement firm Comscore showed on Sunday.
The film has grossed 54.1 million dollars after 10 days of release in North America and 66 million dollars worldwide through Sunday.
Sony's romantic comedy slasher film "Heart Eyes" came in second on its opening weekend with 8.5 million dollars. Another newcomer, Universal Pictures' action comedy film "Love Hurts," landed in third with 5.8 million dollars.
Overall box office revenues in North America only topped out at an estimated 54.4 million this weekend, a Super Bowl weekend, according to Comscore.
Moviegoing usually plummets dramatically during the biggest weekend for American football in which the National Football League (NFL)'s annual championship game is played. ■
