MEXICO CITY, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Paraguayan striker Robert Morales scored twice as Toluca held in-form Leon to a 3-3 draw in the Liga MX clash on Saturday.
The host, who entered the match having won each of its opening five games of the season, took a 2-0 lead inside 25 minutes courtesy of goals from Jhonder Cadiz and Rodrigo Echeverria.
Isaias Violante reduced the deficit, but Leon restored its two-goal advantage when Echeverria struck again just after the hour.
Toluca refused to surrender, and Morales, a second-half substitute for Ricardo Angulo, netted twice in the last half hour to earn his side a point at Estadio Leon.
The result leaves Leon second in the 18-team standings with 16 points, trailing reigning champion America on goal difference. Toluca is seven points further back.
Earlier, Ozziel Herrera's 66th-minute strike gave Tigres UANL a 2-1 home victory over struggling Atlas. Tigres is now third in the league with four wins from six outings while Atlas is 15th and remains winless this campaign. ■
