TASHKENT, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase its service exports to 8.5 billion U.S. dollars this year, the Uzbek president's press service said in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, the volume of services in Uzbekistan has grown "from 19 billion dollars in 2018 to 65 billion dollars." The most significant acceleration has been seen in sectors such as information technology, financial services, tourism, aviation, education and healthcare.
"The target indicators for this year have been set: to increase the volume of services by 15 percent to 82 billion dollars, raise exports to 8.5 billion dollars, and provide employment for 2.5 million people in this sector," the press service said. ■
