THE HAGUE, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- A shooting incident occurred in the village of Noorbeek near the Dutch-Belgian border on Thursday morning, leaving one person wounded, Dutch police said.
The exact circumstances of the incident remain unclear, but police said they are in search of a car with Belgian license plate.
Local residents said they heard shots fired in the village in the southern province of Limburg around 8 a.m. local time. They also saw two people running away after the shots were fired and a car speeding away.
The victim, a 30-year-old man from Rotterdam, was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The police are seeking witnesses and are on the lookout for a grey or green Renault passenger car with a Belgian license plate. As of now, the suspects remain at large. ■
