BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) club Zhejiang FC has appointed Spanish football manager Raul Caneda Perez as head coach of its first team.
"Zhejiang FC has completed the signing of Spanish coach Raul Caneda Perez. Caneda will serve as the head coach of the Zhejiang team in 2025 season," Zhejiang FC said in a statement released on Wednesday.
Caneda replaces his fellow Spanish Jordi Vinyals, who exited after guiding Zhejiang FC to seventh place in last season's CSL.
The 56-year-old was also expected to contribute to the club's youth development.
"Cultivating young players is one of Caneda's strengths. Having worked at the football academy of Real Madrid, Caneda boasts rich experience in spotting and developing young players," the Zhejiang club added.
Zhejiang FC will host newly-promoted Dalian Yingbo in its first match of the new season on February 23. ■
