DOHA, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of Qatari humanitarian aid arrived in the Gaza Strip on Monday as part of an ongoing land bridge initiative to provide aid and relief to the enclave.
According to a statement by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2,600 tons of aid jointly provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity, and Qatar Red Crescent Society have entered the strip from Jordan via the Erez crossing.
The statement stressed that the initiative reflects Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and its commitment to helping them navigate the current humanitarian crisis. ■
