BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Fujian Sturgeons small forward Zou Yang was named the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Rising Star of the Month on Monday.
Between the 25th and 35th round of the regular season, the sophomore forward started all 11 games, averaging 16.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.5 blocks in 41.5 minutes of action per game, as Fujian won four matches during the spell. He shot 43.2% from the field and 77.4% from the foul line in these games.
Also on Monday, Zou was selected as one of Team South's reserves for the CBA All-Star Game in the northeastern city of Changchun on March 2.
Prior to Zou, Qingdao Eagles center Yang Hansen is the winner of the monthly award in the past two editions this season. ■
