YANGON, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted western Myanmar at about 1:53 a.m. local time on Friday, the country's Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) reported.
According to the DMH, the epicenter was determined to be 9 miles to the east and southeast of Homalin town in the Sagaing region.
The earthquake, with a depth of 43 km, was initially determined to be at 24.83 degrees north latitude and 95.05 degrees east longitude, the DMH said. ■
