WARSAW, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Polish midfielder Jakub Moder has signed for Feyenoord from Brighton and Hove Albion, the Dutch club said on Tuesday.
The Pole's contract is valid until June 2028, and according to local media, Feyenoord paid a transfer fee of 3.5 million euros.
"Everything happened quite quickly. I'm very excited about this new step. I felt that I was ready for it. It's a new league and a new club for me, but it's at the highest level," Moder told Feyenoord's official website on Tuesday.
"Of course, it will take some time to get used to playing here. But I hope to show what I can do as soon as possible. Feyenoord is a big club that takes part in European competitions every year. I can't wait to show myself on that stage too," the 25-year-old added.
On Wednesday evening, Feyenoord will host Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. However, Moder emphasized that it's too early for him to make a debut in the team.
"I will watch the next two matches against Bayern and Lille as a fan, but I hope that I will have the opportunity to play on the pitch later. There is something to play for, and in the end it's only about winning as often as possible," the midfielder said. ■
