JAKARTA, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has set a higher target for export, up to 7.1 percent, in 2025 as an effort to boost its economic growth, said an official on Monday.
"With the higher target of exports, we expect to support the economic growth of 8 percent as targeted by the president," said Fajarini Puntodewi, director general of national export development at Indonesia's Ministry of Trade, in her speech at a public event in Jakarta.
Puntodewi said the government was also preparing strategies to achieve the target, including strengthening domestic cooperation so that business players could increase their products' quality to be able to be exported.
In 2024, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of 31.04 billion U.S. dollars, with total export values reaching 264.7 billion dollars, according to Statistics Indonesia. ■
