BAGHDAD, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced Sunday the signing of 100 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between Iraqi and Iranian universities to boost scientific cooperation.
The MoUs were signed during the Science Week currently being held in Iraq's holy city of Karbala, the ministry said in a statement.
The MoUs included enhancing scientific exchange in various scientific and technological disciplines, organizing joint training programs for students and faculty members, developing cooperation in the fields of modern technology and innovation, etc., it said.
The universities of the two countries agreed to implement research projects and encourage cooperation in the field of joint scientific supervision, updating curricula, and exchanging scholarships, according to the statement. ■
