BEIJING, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Football Association announced Wednesday the 2025 season Chinese Super League (CSL) and second-division participating team lists, each consisting of 16 teams.
The lists show that Meizhou Hakka that was degraded in 2024 will stay in the CSL in the upcoming season. Besides, third place Shenzhen Juniors and fourth place Shaanxi United from third-tier league in 2024 have been dramatically promoted to second division.
On January 6, the CFA officially declared CSL side Cangzhou, second-division Guangzhou, and third-tier Hunan will not be able to participate in the new season's professional leagues due to arrears and debts.
In another announcement released by the CFA on the same day, it was shown that players registered with the above three eliminated clubs can notify their original clubs in writing to unilaterally terminate their work contracts. ■
