TUNIS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti and Caleb Fundanga, the special envoy of the Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, on Thursday discussed bilateral ties, said a ministry statement.
The talks focused on "the solid friendship and fruitful cooperation between Tunisia and Zambia," added the statement.
"Nafti expressed Tunisia's desire to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in different areas including economy, trade, investment and education," it said.
The Tunisian minister also emphasized the importance of fully utilizing the mechanisms of the African Union and the opportunities provided by the two countries' membership in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
According to the statement, the two sides also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of common interest. ■
