BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The leading Party members group of China's State Council convened on Friday to study a speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, as well as the plenum's guiding principles.
Friday's meeting was chaired by Premier Li Qiang, who is also secretary of the leading Party members group of the State Council. Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Highlighting the significance of Xi's speech, the meeting called for efforts to align thoughts and actions with the guiding principles from the speech and the plans laid out at the plenum.
The meeting acknowledged the achievements in improving conduct, promoting integrity, and fighting corruption within the government over the past year, and called for continued efforts in this regard in 2025.
More should be done to ensure that power, funds, and personnel are effectively governed by regulations, the meeting noted.
The meeting emphasized the need to rigorously and effectively strengthen the government's self-improvement, enhance its capacity to fulfill its duties, and ensure the timely and effective implementation of policies. ■
