MADRID, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Copa del Rey holder Athletic Club Bilbao was tied at home in a derby against Osasuna in the fourth round of the tournament on Wednesday.
The tie is a repeat of the 2023 semifinal, which saw Osasuna win 2-1 on aggregate over two matches, although Athletic will be confident of progressing after winning 2-1 in La Liga away to its rival in December.
Real Madrid has been drawn at home to play another top-flight rival in Celta Vigo, while FC Barcelona has what should be a very interesting tie at home to Betis.
Real Sociedad is at home to Rayo Vallecano in the final tie between two top-flight clubs.
Fourth tier Pontevedra will be slightly disappointed at drawing Getafe after already beating La Liga sides, Villarreal and Mallorca, while third division Ourense is at home to Valencia, who on Monday won 2-0 away to Eldense.
Second division Elche's reward for thrashing Las Palmas 4-0 is a home tie against Atletico Madrid and while second division leader Almeria may not be excited by its draw at home to Leganes, it will know that a match against a rival more focused on avoiding relegation could give it the chance of reaching the quarterfinals. ■
