BANGKOK, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's exports are expected to grow by 1 percent to 3 percent in 2025 amid uncertainties on trade policies and geopolitical tensions, the Thai National Shippers' Council (TNSC) said on Tuesday.
For 2024, the group upwardly revised its export projection to expand 5 percent from an increase of 4 percent, the TNSC said in a statement.
Exports, a key driver of the Southeast Asian country's economic growth, climbed 8.2 percent in November compared to a year earlier and saw an annual growth rate of 5.1 percent in the first 11 months of 2024.
The group urged the government to allocate more budget for international trade activities, focusing on both key trading partners and emerging markets, to diversify trade risks and mitigate market distortions, said TNSC chairman Chaichan Charoensuk. ■
