CANBERRA, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Two people have died and a third has been hospitalized after a boat capsized off a beach in South Australia (SA).
SA Police said in a statement on Monday evening that police and ambulance crews were called to a beach near the small town of Beachport -- about 320 km south of Adelaide -- at 11:30 a.m. local time after reports that a boat had capsized and three people were unresponsive on shore.
Two men -- aged 82 and 69 -- were pronounced dead at the scene and a 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital, police said.
A spokesperson for the SA Ambulance Service earlier on Monday afternoon said that one person was being treated on the beach, with two more missing in the water.
"Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing with the assistance of the Water Operations Unit," SA Police said.
"There are no suspicious circumstances."
All three people are from the small town of Millicent, around 30 km southwest of Beachport. ■
