BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Good relations between China and Malaysia mirror the robust growth of China's ties with its neighboring countries, and China is ready to work with them for peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday.
According to the latest public opinion poll in Malaysia, the overall favorability of the Malaysians toward China has increased significantly, and the mainstream public opinion is positive on China's development.
While commenting on the poll, Mao said at a press briefing that China and Malaysia are close neighbors across the sea, and good-neighborliness and friendship, mutual benefit, and solidarity and collaboration have been the underlying feature of bilateral relations.
She said in recent years, China and neighboring countries have enjoyed deepening friendship and mutual trust, increasingly entwined interests, and fruitful practical cooperation.
"This has injected stability and certainty to a complex world landscape, greatly contributed to the lasting peace and stability and fast economic growth in the region, and benefited people from regional countries, which receives wide support and recognition," she said.
China stands ready to continue acting on the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, and work with neighboring countries to build an Asian home, advance the building of an Asian community with a shared future, and inject more positive energy into peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the wider world, she said. ■
